Corinne B. Schiller, a longtime resident of Crown Point and current resident of Claremore, OK, passed away Monday March 24, 2014. She is survived by brother, Paul R. Bunker; sister-in-law, Marilyn Bunker; nephews: W. David Hofferber of Claremore, OK and Robert W. Bunker of Circle Pines, MN; niece, Gina Wagner of Apple Valley, MN; and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William Bunker; mother: Maisie Bunker; husband: William (Will) Schiller; sister: Carolyn A. Keck; brother: Richard Bunker. Mrs. Schiller was member of the National Honor Society and graduated from Crown Point High School, Class of 1943. Corinne also attended classes at Indiana University Northwest. During the sixties, Corinne signed on with J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency in Chicago as Account Coordinator for clients like Quaker Oats, and Oscar Meyer. In 1969, she joined Tuck Productions in Chicago as their first woman producer. In the seventies, Corinne worked for several Northwest Indiana newspapers as a reporter/photographer. She wrote her own column for The Herald called "Connie's Comments". Corinne was also a sales associate and broker with Washburn Realtors in Merrillville. Recently, Corinne did the marketing and public relations for the Indiana Annual Porter County Fair. Corinne held a membership in the South Lake County Board of Realtors and served on the Make America Beautiful committee. She was on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Indiana Symphony Society as well as vice-president for membership of the Women's Association of the Symphony. Corinne was also active in the St. Anthony Medical Center Auxiliary and the treasurer of Methodist Hospital Junior Guild. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Pruzin & Little Chapel, 811 E. Franciscan Dr., Crown Point with visitation beginning at 1:30 PM and services at 2:00 PM. Friends are invited to join the family for an opportunity to help celebrate Corinne's life.
