Ethel Marie St. Germain was born on 4 July 1908 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. Her parents were Joseph and Elizabeth St. Germain.

"St. Paul Man, Loses Life While Swimming in Lake Gervais.
. . . .
Raymond C. Wiederholt, St. Paul grocery store proprietor living at Lake Gervais with his bride of two months, was drowned in that lake Sunday afternoon. Witnesses said Wiederholt dove off a dock and failed to reappear. Friends searched in vain for his body for two hours. It finally was recoved by Deputy Sheriffs Jim Leahy; Matt Weber, Carroll Richardson and Larry Honhorst.
Wiederholt is survived beside his widow Ethel, by his father, Charles Wiederholt, and a brother, William both of Northfield. Wiederholt, who was 25 years old, was the owner of a store at Snelling avenue and Minnehaha street.
The body is at the Charles A Godbout Funeral home, Oakland and Pleasant avenues. It will be taken Tuesday to the home of Joseph St. Germain, 353 East Lawson street, the dead man's father-in-law. Funeral services will take place Wednesday at Miesville, Minn., Wiederholt's former home."
Ethel is listed in the 1930 United States Census living with her parents.

Grandma married my grandpa, Elmer Pierre on 15 October 1935 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Paul, Minnesota.

COLORFUL FALL WEDDING CELEBRATED TUESDAY IN SAINT PATRICKS CATHOLIC CHURCH, ST. PAUL.
A very pretty wedding was solemized on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at St. Patricks Catholic Church of St. Paul, when Ethel Wiederholt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph St. Germain of St. Paul, became the bride of Elmer Pierre, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pierre of North St. Paul.
The bridge was gowned in peach velvet made with long sleeves and floor lengths and wore a velvet turban and satin sandals of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of tea roses.
Miss Alice St. Germain, a sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Miss Bernadette Murphy also of St. Paul was a bridesmaid. Both were gowned in brown velvet, made on the same lines as the brides dress, and wore velvet turbans and satin sandals to match. They carried rust and yellow pompoms.
Mr. Leslie Pierre of Winona acted as his brother's best man and Alois Pierre as groomsman, while Mr. Gerald Pierre and Mr. Raymond St. Germain were ushers.
Music was rendered by members of St. Patrick's choir of which the bride was a member. Mrs. Agnes Angeletti was organist and Mrs. Alois Pierre violinist. A musical program was played by Mrs. Angeletti and Mrs. Pierre preceeding the ceremony. Mrs. St. Germain, the bride's mother, and Mrs. Pierre, the bridegroom's mother wore brown crepe dresses with corsage bouquets at the shoulder.
A wedding dinner was served at the bride's home for members of the immediate families. Those attending the wedding dinner from North St. Paul were Rev. Wm. P. O'Rielley, Mr. and Mrs. John Pierre and daughter Agnes, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Pierre, Mr. and Mrs. Alois Pierre and daughter Edna Kathryn, Miss Edith Swan and Miss Marion Conlin. Many friends of the bride and groom from North St. Paul attended the wedding at the church.
After Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Pierre return from a wedding trip through Northern Minnesota they will reside in their new home on 18th ave. ne"
